360FOCUS

to deliver a legacy vision

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is a unique, full-scale replica of the US Senate Chamber designed to educate the public about the role of the Senate. Like many high-profile projects, it involved many influential people with competing opinions and visions. It presented exceptional challenges: a proposed building to be built on both federal and state land, dozens of complex regulations, coordination with a major university, and remediation of a capped landfill only 50 meters from the ocean.

A project like this required a team comfortable with complexity. One that could prioritize problem-solving over managing tasks and keep everyone on mission. Our focus defined our success as we brought people together to turn a big vision into a remarkable reality.

360EXPERIENCE

for a creative learning environment

The city of Quincy anticipated replacing a 100-year-old school building with a modern facility but had no options for an alternative building site. That meant our $60M project would be built on a steep hill, at the edge of a flood plain, and only 18 inches away from the existing school that would remain fully occupied during construction. Our experience guided us through the significant technical challenges. It also prompted us to pose a bigger question: "What would make this a great school?" Before design even began, we worked with our design team to mine the thoughts, objections, complaints, and ideas of teachers, students, administrators, and the community. Together, we created a program that truly reflects their aspirations. The result is summed up in this accolade by the mayor: “In my 11 years as mayor, I have been involved with a large number of projects, and I have never seen one run as well as this one.” It takes experience to deliver beyond expectations.

360SERVICE

to revitalize a part of history

The Episcopal Diocese of Boston hired us three times because our service exceeded their expectations. To stretch a tight budget for renovating a parish food pantry, kitchen, and office spaces, we salvaged and repurposed quality kitchen and office equipment from two other projects. When managing their Cathedral renovation, we made the extra effort to distill what mattered most to them about the project so we could reduce the budget, yet still deliver its essence. And when we managed their HVAC upgrades, we helped them pre-plan flexibility into their building to avoid future costs. Excellent service is about more than being available 24/7; it’s about committing to a project as if it were your own.
