Southwest Middle School

Project Summary

Constructed mere inches from the existing, occupied school it was replacing, Southwest Middle School received wide acclaim from City Officials when it was complete in 2019. PCA360 led the project team through design, contractor procurement, construction, commissioning, FF&E procurement, and final occupancy. The CMAA awarded it “2020 Project of the Year”, recognizing the challenges that were overcome with safely blasting and constructing a “support of excavation” system in a densely populated neighborhood and within inches of the adjacent, occupied school. PCA360 worked closely with neighboring residents to ensure that the ambitious project received positive local support.
